I like work: it fascinates me. I can sit and look at it for hours.
~Jerome K. Jerome
That’s how I felt yesterday when I attempted a power hour. I got psyched up for it, ready to beat my best time, but it was all downhill from there, maybe because it’s spring, which is very distracting to me. There were geese flying overhead on their spring route, chickadees flittering from birdhouse to birdhouse, looking for the best place to nest, and healthy, robust weeds taunting me from the garden. Who can do a power hour when they’re thinking about such things? Nature and power hour just don’t mix.
I even tried to pretend I was working in-house and my former fiendish supervisor was looking over my shoulder. Sometimes that actually works, but not yesterday. I finally decided there was no point in fighting spring fever, and I went for a walk.
Power hour will have to wait for a rainy day.
