Ok I'm new to this site and new to blogging,not real sure what to say, I've been an MT for 15 years, it will be 10 with the doctors I work for now (ENT/facial plastic groupe) and also a bartender/server part time for extra money since the death of my husband a few years ago, am looking forward to meeting other MTs and hopefully this will be a good place to bounce some questions off of other MTs for opinions when I'm not quite sure, as I am the only MT for the two office i work at. In a followup to the School Wars, I read this blog: Send in the Cannibals! from ADVANCE for Health Information Professionals HIM Insider Blogs.

Go on any medical transcription forum and you will find a war raging about medical transcription schools. The common opinion among the most vociferous is that there are only two choices one should make and no other school or program is worthy of consideration.

I’m not going to name names but let’s call those two schools Harvard and Stanford.

I am currently enrolled in MT course, and have been for over a
year. When first enrolled, I was informed it would take about
6 months. I am doing this from home, so working around everyone
else's schedule and currently working part time. I only have a
few chapters to complete, then the final. What is the best advice
anyone could give me on how to make it through the course so I
can start working? I have read the books, studied the chapters,
but want some feed back from people who are living it day to day.
What is it that you as an MT know now, that you wished you knew

Hi,

I am an MT who is setting up a study group to take the certification tests before July 31st in order to get a discount.

Has anyone taken the RMT test and would be willing to share what info was the most helpful when studying?

Also, looking for one more person to take either test.
